I felt like it took awhile to lead up to the massive break out zombie scenes and I wish we would have had more zombies in this book, because I was expecting more. Thank you from the very bottom of my heart, and the heart of every Shanster, for once again creating something so beautiful and powerful and heartbreaking and horrific and heartwarming all at the same time. Read if you dare. B Smith has always had to deal with a racist father and nightmares of killer babies. B tries to convince you that she’s not like her father from the very first chapter. This question contains spoilers… view spoiler [Did anyone else find it strange that B really wanted to please her father and acted racist and stuff, but went behind his back with her best friend being Black? He’s offensive, violent, sexist, and abusive. This read referenced racism a little too much and, in all honesty, I don’t know if I’d want my kid to read it. B is trying with all her might to overcome her enemies and stop the end of mankind. The end is nigh, but there are plenty of horrors to come. But to counter, Shan includes B’s private thoughts – her doubt and gut-wrenching guilt.
But the content was worse than anticipated. And then at the end B listens to his dad and does such a terrible act — oh no!

The list goes on.
Mar 08, Chappy rated it really liked it Shelves: At the end, when she makes that decision to sacrifice Tyler because she gave into her father a flip switches.
